Day 33

· Ruby's IWK Journey

Written by Charlotte

Good morning!

Ruby had a good sleep last night, seems to have her days and nights sorted out, so that is good! 🌌⛅She's looking much more like herself, but still a bit off obviously because of all the drugs she's still on.

It's gotten busy here today with other patients coming into the ward and rounds got interrupted... so not sure if they'll be making changes. But they probably won't be, unless it's to start weaning some of her medications.

Her heart rate still seems to fluctuate up and down when she's awake and moving around, but I'm hoping the trach will solve that issue, because I think part of it is that she is getting frustrated. She can't play or do anything without going for the breathing tube, so she has her arms weighted down with bean bags if she is sleeping or if we can't manage both arms being out. She's crafty!

Anyways, we are just hoping for a quiet day, and that we'll make some good progress! ❤️‍🩹

Our prayer for today:

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for another day, for all the progress Ruby has made and for all the progress she is going to make today.

We ask that you would continue to strengthen her body and heal her body. Lord, we ask for complete healing in the name of Jesus. We hold steady and keep our faith as we wait, and we press into you. We cast our cares unto you, because we know you care for us, and you Love Ruby, Lord.

We pray that you would restore her body, and surround her with peace. We ask for a renewal of energy, to keep on healing, and growing and living. We pray that the medications and therapies work well for her and help her body to recover.

We come against the attacks of the enemy, and we resist him, we tell him to flee in Jesus name. We pray that you would protect her life, her heart and soul, and her body. Set your angels around her, to stand guard over her as you do a good work in her body. May you have all the glory, Lord.

We pray for wisdom for the health care team here, we ask for good treatment plans, for encouragement and for peace as we wait. We thank you that she is receiving good care and we thank you for the compassion and kindness of strangers.

We hold onto you, and ask for more healing, complete healing Lord.

Thank you for your faithfulness to us, for your never ending love and mercy. Lord, surround us with your strength as we continue to watch and wait.

In your powerful name we pray,

Amen ❤️
