Day 36

· Ruby's IWK Journey

Written by Charlotte

Good morning,

Ruby still has a fever this morning.

It seemed to break before we went to bed last night, but it came back and she was unsettled most of the night. They've put her on broad spectrum antibiotics until they can find which one is the culprit. But we know that there are infections that the broad spectrum won't cover, so we're very anxious to find out what we are dealing with.

Her heart rate is also still high (130ish) even though she is back to 200 of esmolol (the beta blocker she was put on last week, this is the dose she was on most of the week) and she is back up to 70% oxygen on the ventilator. We were really hoping she would be all better this morning. They did all the cultures last night, so we have to wait for those to show any results.

Please be praying that they find the cause of this fever and that Ruby gets better. Any infection or sickness is really dangerous for our little girl.

Our prayer:

Lord, surround Ruby in your cloak of protection. Strengthen her body to fight infection and sickness. Heal her with your mighty hand and give her peace today. We command the enemy to flee and continue to hold onto your everlasting hope. We lean into you and thank you for walking with us through these valleys. We pray Life and strength and healing over Ruby's little body.

Thank you Lord for being our Waymaker.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
